Daina iš „Gamtos romansų“. [Kiti du – Pavasario prasmė, Švilpynės] Kitoks žvilgsnis į gamtą su poetu Henriku Radausku. Tai greičiau daina sau, nei parlamentui. O gal pirmiausia jam?..
Pablyškęs vakaras, pavirsdamas į miglą,
Iš tylinčio dangaus pro žalsvą lapų stiklą
Į sodą sunkiasi, šlamėdamas žolėj,
Kur verkiančioj šviesoj balčiausi gyvuliai,
Palikę pasakas, klajoja realybėj,
Bijodami, kad tuoj dangaus skliautai beribiai
Užges, ir kailiai jų putodami ištirps,
Ir rankos dieviškos jiems vilnų nenukirps.
Eilėraštis iš rinkinio „Strėlė danguje” 1950
Song from „Romances of Nature”. [Other two – Pavasario prasmė, Švilpynės] A different look at nature with poet Henrikas Radauskas. This is more of a song for myself than for parliament. Or maybe for him first?..
Twilight
The pallid evening, turning into mist,
Sinks through the leafy glass of green, sun-kissed,
From silent skies into the garden’s deep,
Where through the rustling grass the shadows creep.
There, in the weeping light, white beasts appear,
Escaped from tales to roam in real-world fear,
Afraid that soon the boundless vaults of blue
Will fade, and melt their foamy fur from view,
And that no divine hands will ever come
To shear the woolly coats they carried home.
