Laisvasis Varpininkas / Free Bellman

1960 metais Ornette Coleman (alt-sax) su dvigubu jazz‘o muzikantų kvartetu įrašė ir po metų išleido naujo „fre jazz“ stiliaus pradžią skelbiantį vinilą „Free Jazz“. Šiemet minimas LP 65-metis inspiravo ir mano tradicinį varpų muzikos koncertą atidarant „Kaunas Jazz“ festivalį su Kauno kariljono skambėjimu. Trumpos to revoliucinio albumo inspiracijos šio projekto pradžioje ir pabaigoje, bei man virtualiai talkinusio JAE gyvenančio profesionalaus būgnininko Alec Koff įrašai kuria gyvą kariljono improvizaciją, kurią siekiu priartinti prie dabar jau kiek išblėsusią  free jazz‘o stiliaus dvasią.

In 1960, Ornette Coleman (alto saxophone) with a double quartet of jazz musicians recorded and released a year later the vinyl “Free Jazz” announcing the beginning of a new “free jazz” style. This year, the 65th anniversary of the LP was also the inspiration for my traditional bell music concert opening the “Kaunas Jazz” festival with the sound of the Kaunas carillon. Short my inspirations of that revolutionary album at the beginning and end of this project, as well as recordings by Alec Koff, a professional drummer living in the UAE who helped me virtually, create a lively carillon improvisation, which I aim to bring closer to the now somewhat faded spirit of the free jazz style.
